Marion Eugene Leeper

Marion Eugene Leeper, 83, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his home. He was born in Readsville, Missouri on February 27, 1937 to the late Clyde Leeper and the late Maddie (Hoover) Holloway. On July 4, 1959, Mel was united in marriage to Nancy Leeper, and she preceded him in death on June 18, 1984. Mel served in the United States Air Force. He retired from National Refractories in Mexico and in his spare time you could find him pitching horseshoes, fishing, playing poker, having a Budweiser, or just driving the gravel roads in Callaway County. Spending time with his family brought great joy to his life. Those remaining to mourn his passing include his son, David Leeper (Mikki Mealy) of Fulton; daughter, Melody Murphy (Tommy Lansford) of Fulton; brother, Steve Leeper (Brenda) of Fulton; sister, Hazel Plaster (Gordon) of Fulton; seven grandchildren, Ashlea Wohlers (Cory), Kaitlin Murphy (Charles McClelland), Mystic Leeper, Megan Leeper (Dusty Baumgartner), Morgan Leeper, David Leeper (Nicole), Daniel Leeper; and seven great-grandchildren, Savannah Baumgartner, Hunter Wohlers, Cameron Wohlers, Myah Hunt, Chance Leeper, Haven McClelland, Hazel McClelland;, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mel was preceded in death by brothers, Don Leeper, Dean Leeper, Gary Leeper, Larry Leeper, Marvin Leeper; sister, June Brown; granddaughters, Danielle and Chelsea Murphy; great-granddaughter, Olivia Leeper; great-grandson, Jeremiah Murphy; and niece, Tami Reynolds. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
