Charolette "June" Powers

Charolette "June" Powers, 76, of Steedman, was freed from pain and reunited with her beloved daughter, Tracie Jo, on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. She was at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Portland, Missouri on May 17, 1943 to the late Allen Mealy and the late Helen (Leisinger) Mealy. On June 8, 1963, June married the love of her life, Donald Joe Powers, who survives her passing. June was a member of Church of God (Holiness) in Reform. She spent many years providing loving care for her grandchildren and other neighborhood children. She was a grandmother not only to her biological grandchildren, but to their friends as well. June blessed everyone she met with her infectious smile and laugh. In her spare time, she liked to read and cook. Never was she happier than when she was surrounded by her family. In addition to her husband of 56 years, June will be lovingly remembered by her son, Terry Powers (Heidi) of Steedman; daughter, Tessa Atterberry (Tim) of Steedman; brothers, Ronnie Mealy (Janet) of Portland, Donnie Mealy (Linda) of Steedman, Mike Mealy (Jody) of Portland, and Kevin Mealy (Ruth Ann) of Washington; grandchildren, Sean Powers (Brittany Welsh), Levi Powers, Tracy Robinett (Logan), Stephanie Powers, Lindsey Powers, Ashley Atterberry, Amanda Hoormann (Matt), and Ethan Atterberry; great-grandchildren, Jaedyn Patterson, Addison Hoormann, Steven Hoormann, and Lillian Scoggins; many nieces and nephews; and her best buddy, Coco. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by daughter Tracie Jo Powers; and son-in-law, Kevin Crawford. Private graveside services will be in Steedman Cemetery.
