Dorris Huston Jones, 91, of Fulton, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 8, 2020. He was born in Dixie, Missouri on November 1, 1928, to the late Emery Huston Jones and the late Hallie (Dolman) Jones. On March 5, 1949, Dorris married Margaret (Sparks) Jones who survives his passing. Dorris was not a stranger to hard work. He owned a trucking company, Dixie Store, worked for the KD Railroad, New Bloomfield Special Road District, Harbison Walker, and the United States Postal Service as a substitute mail carrier. He retired from the State of Missouri after working in Building Maintenance at the Truman Building. Dorris served on the Board of Directors for Callaway Water District, was a member of the Victor School Board, and Dixie Christian Church. In addition to his wife of 71 years, Dorris will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Brenda Maddox (Bruce) of New Bloomfield, and Glenda Clyman (David) of Nevada, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Jones of Holts Summit; brother, Harold Jones (Doris) of Holts Summit; grandchildren, Brian Jones, Sheila Bradley, Christen Knehans, Jeremy Clyman (Jennifer), Julie Morgan, Bridget Maddox, and Brandon Maddox (Lynne); step-grandchildren, Doug Leffert and Donald Leffert (Robyn); 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dorris was preceded in death by son, Larry Clinton Jones; brothers, Everett Jones, Emerson Jones, Raymond Jones, and James Doyle Jones; and sisters, Ethel Mae Miller, Berniece Miller, Beatrice Miller, and Georgie Hampton. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Steve Nelson officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
