Velma A. Durham, 78, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at her daughter's home in Iowa. Velma was born on February 17, 1941 to the late Elmo and Ruby Frey Kemp. She was married to Claude Durham on January 19, 1963 in Fulton and he preceded her in death in 2008. She was a 1960 graduate of Fulton High School and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Iowa. She will be remembered as a lady who enjoyed flowers and gardening but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Donnie (Darla) Durham of Fulton; one daughter, Annette (Daniel) Vick of Eldridge, Iowa; four brothers, Joe Kemp of Fulton, J.C. (Mary Kay) Kemp of New Bloomfield, Missouri, David (Linda) Kemp of Bland, Missouri and Wayne (Billie) Kemp of Montgomery City, Missouri; five sisters, Wilma (Danny) Wall of Holts Summit, Missouri, Renee (Jim Clark) Harrison of Fulton, Stephanie (Patrick) Mahnken of Fulton, Teresa (Wayne) Jett of Fulton and Tammy (Joe) Ernst of Madison, Alabama; five grandchildren, Danelle Vick of Eldridge, Iowa, Rebecca (Randy) Schutters of Davenport, Iowa, Matthew (Skyler Jahns) Vick of Davenport, Iowa, Kaylee Durham of Fulton and Scott McQuillen Jr. of Bettendorf, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Aria McQuillen, Scarlett McQuillen, Avery McQuillen and Lucian Vick, all of Davenport, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Kemp of Fulton, Audra Blatell of Lebanon, Missouri and Jessie Purvis of Fulton; brother-in-law, Richard Loy of Topeka, Kansas; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Wallace, Harry, Francis, and Leslie Kemp, and one sister, Kay Love. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16 at the funeral home.
