Joanna Belle Goodman

Joanna Belle Goodman, 89, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Fulton Medical Center. She was born on October 28, 1930 in Tremont, Illinois, the daughter of the late Cornelius White and the late Julia (Haybeck) White. Joanna retired from Fulton State Hospital where she worked as an aide. She also ran a boarding house for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting and crocheting. She was a born nurturer and her greatest pleasure was found in spending time with her family and making sure everyone was fed and well cared for. She is survived by a daughter, Lesa Swartwood (Stephen) of Fulton; grandchildren, Paul K. Goodman, Kayla Robinson, Shawna Hicks, and James P. Swartwood; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. Private graveside services were held at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be left for the family at www.maupinfuneralhome.com.
