James Melvin "Pete" Brown, 78, of Williamsburg, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. He was born in Callaway County, Missouri on November 3, 1941, the son of the late Herbert H. Brown and the late Leona (Forrest) Brown. Pete started work as a brick skidder for Wellsville Fire Brick where he remained until he retired. He also farmed and raised cattle. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and sipping an occasional beer. He is survived by three sons, Jimmy, Billy, and Darrick; three daughters, Kay, Denise, and Sonya; step-son, Benard; step-daughter, Joveta; brother, John; one sister, Leastermae "Cookie"; previous wife, Darlene Butler; and a slew of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; previous wife, Carolyn Ganaway; parents; three brothers; and one sister. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020, at Oak Level Cemetery near Yucatan with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating.
