Wanda J. Vaughn, 84, of Fulton, passed away at Fulton Nursing and Rehab on Sunday, February 16, 2020. She was born in Calwood, Missouri on June 26, 1935, to the late Lewis Sheets and the late Hazel (Newberry) Sheets. Wanda was no stranger to hard work. For many years, she worked as a waitress at Gasper's Restaurant. If she wasn't at work, she could be found working on the farm, tending to her flowers, or any number of other tasks around her home. In her down time, she enjoyed fishing. She is survived by sons, William Vaughn (Lisa) of Fort Scott, Kan., and Clinton Vaughn (Melbina) of Fulton; daughters, Brenda Payne of Fulton, and Donna Bentch of Auxvasse; brother, Jim Sheets (Judy) of Fulton; sisters, Margaret Ferino (George) of Fulton, Mary Hook of Fulton, Joyce Webb of Fulton, and Betty Schmidt (Henry) of Fulton; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by daughters, Kimberly Vaughn and Beverly Maupin; brother, Jerry Sheets; sister, Martha Hughes; and brother-in-law, Bob Hook. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in New Hope Cemetery at a later date.
