Wilma "June" Furlong

Wilma "June" Furlong, 86, of Fulton, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab. She was born in St. James, Missouri on March 23, 1933, the daughter of the late Austin Adair and the late Rose (Mahan) Busby. On August 30, 1952, June was united in marriage to Donald Furlong. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2010. June retired from Fulton State Hospital, where she worked in housekeeping, following 18 years of service. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with Donald in their fifth wheel, mostly to Texas. She enjoyed searching for bargains at rummage sales, playing BINGO, watching Westerns, and taking rides just to look at the scenery. More than anything, she loved her family. Her memory will be cherished by sons, Harold Furlong (Mary) of Fulton and Timmy Furlong (Paula) of Hawk Point; daughters, Joyce Vaught (David) of Holts Summit, Brenda Garrison (Harold) of Mokane, and Mamie Kirk (Jeff) of Calwood; brothers, Clifford Adair (Joline) of Ill., and Dennis Busby of Jefferson City; sisters, Betty Vandelicht of Fulton and Joetta West (Homer) of Fulton; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by a son, Austin Furlong; and sisters, Eileen Pitts, Violet Easley, and Marie Brookins. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mokane Cemetery.
