Eunice Garrett, 79, of Fulton, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. She was born on June 10, 1940, in McCredie, the daughter of the late Hallie Graves and the late Bertha "Buzz" (Bell) Graves. In 1980, Eunice was married to Davis Garrett who preceded her in death in 2000. Eunice was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Mexico and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Blessed with a lively sense of humor, Eunice enjoyed having a good time and made people laugh and smile every where she went. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by son, Ronnie Gillette of Columbia; daughters, Vernetta Tally (Pierre) of Fulton, and Kathy Gillette of Zion, Ill.; sister, Boopie Jean Butler of Fulton; nine grandchildren, Mercedes Tally, Tasheana Tally, Lionel Gurley, Lamar Miller, Nakinya Gurley, Stephanie Gillette, Reverend Jermareian Gillette, Olivia Brown Gillette, and Skyler Quick; fifteen great-grandchildren; God son, Reverend T. L. Garner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Andy Gillette; and 20 siblings. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 418 East Breckenridge in Mexico, with Reverend T. L. Garner officiating. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Repast will be at 1:30 p.m., also at the church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton.
