William G. "Bill" Hudson, 77, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Boone Hospital. He was born in Columbia, Missouri to the late Estelle Hudson and the late Jane (Smith) Hudson on July 8, 1943. On June 5, 1965 Bill was united in marriage to Jeanette (McCray) Hudson. She survives his passing. Bill retired from the University of Missouri, where he worked in the maintenance department, after 34 years of service. He also worked at Columbia Auto Auction for 20 years. He was a member of Millersburg Christian Church and a charter member of Millersburg Lion's Club. For 30 years he announced events for the Callaway County Fair earning the name "Voice of Callaway County." In his spare time, Bill enjoyed working on his old tractors and equipment and restoring them. Bill never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone at his fireworks stand for 25 seasons. He also enjoyed visiting with people at tractor and old thresher shows. He loved to just drive around and the residents of Millersburg often teased him about being on a tour. Bill will leave a void in the lives of all who knew him, especially his wife of 55 years, Jeanette; son, Jamie Hudson (Robin) of Fulton; daughter, Beth Monson (Ron) of Columbia; brother, Eddie Hudson (Cheryl) of Boonville; sisters, Diana Lacy (Roger) of Little Rock, Ark. and Susan Klang (Rob) of Fulton; grandchildren, Nickolas Monson and Brooke Monson of Columbia, Matthew Harris (Kelsey) of Jefferson City, Patrick Harris (Katie) of Belgrade, Mont., Lacey Harris (Chas) of Indiana, Ind.; two great-granddaughters, Erin and Josephine Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Larry Brown officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Millersburg Cemetery.
