Lucille LaVonne McGrath, 85, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at University Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1935 in Hamburg, Iowa to the late James Fitzgerald and the late Hilda (Boilett) Fitzgerald. On November 22, 1956, Lucille was united in marriage to Duane Gerald "Jerry" McGrath. The couple had two sons, James and John. For many years, Lucille worked as a hairdresser at her shop in Millersburg. She also worked in food service at Callaway and St. Mary's hospitals. Lucille was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Millers Creek Extension Club. She loved to travel frequently and light gardening. Lucille never met a stranger and would often catch up on the latest news by way of lengthy phone conversations. Most importantly, she enjoyed time with her family. She is survived by sons, James McGrath (Pam) and John McGrath (Anita), all of Fulton; granddaughters, Haley and Hannah McGrath; brother-in-law, Robert McGrath; two sisters-in-law, Lucy McGrath and Dena Fitzgerald; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James "Buzz" Fitzgerald. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Joseph Abah officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Millers Creek Cemetery.
