James Kenneth Zbinden

James Kenneth Zbinden, 80, of Fulton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. He was born on November 4, 1938, in Fulton, the son of the late James Hallie Zbinden and the late Alma Jane (Howerton) Zbinden. On December 21, 1957, Kenny married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary (Jones) Zbinden. She survives his passing. Kenny graduated from Fulton High School in 1957. He was an independent contractor in Fulton and Callaway County for his entire career. He began working for his father and grandfather at a very young age and eventually took over Zbinden Construction Company. Kenny loved working on and restoring his older model cars, driving them in parades, and attending local car shows. He and Rosemary enjoyed traveling including trips to Switzerland, Hawaii, and Europe. He was also a member of Court Street United Methodist Church. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Rosemary, children: Kathy Richey Liddle (Bryant) of Fulton, and Rick Zbinden of Kansas City, sister, Arlane Yeager of Otterville, grandchildren: Christina Richey Niedergerke (Nick) of Fulton, Jessica Richey of Egypt, KaiLi McCamman of Kansas City, and Mei McCamman of Kansas City, and great-grandson, Kenny Niedergrke. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by sister, Penny Zbinden Flowers. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Rebecca Dunger-Peak officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
