Dorris Pitt

Dorris Pitt, 81, of Kingdom City, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019, at Fulton Presbyterian Manor. She was born in Carrington, Missouri on July 10, 1938, the daughter of the late James Pearl Scott and the late Susan Lillian (Atterberry) Scott. On August 23, 1954, Dorris was united in marriage to Clarence "Mocus" Pitt. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2018, following 64 years of marriage. Dorris retired from Fulton State Hospital. In her younger years, she loved to cook and bake. During the holidays, she made a special pie for each of her children. She enjoyed playing BINGO, scratching lottery tickets, reading, going to the casino, and traveling. Later in life, she enjoyed visiting at Wright Brother Store. Her memory will forever be cherished by children, Rose Shults (Crawford) of Kingdom City, Rita Pitt of Kingdom City, Clarence "Jum" Pitt of Fulton, Carolyn Bernicky (Dwayne) of Kingdom City, Matt Pitt (Kimberly) of Montgomery City, and Renee Pitt of Kingdom City; brothers, Eddie Scott (Ruth Ann) of Marshall, and Harold "Duke" Scott of Fulton; sister, Mary Batey (John) of Fulton; grandchildren, Dallas Anarade, William Shults, Wyatt Shults, Shannon Pitt, Travis Pitt, Nicki Bernicky, Lori Bernicky, and Craig Bernicky; great-grandchildren, Erin Pitt, Dakota Yancey, Ethan Pitt, Will Shults, Roland Shults, Sara Bernicky, Kylie Williams, Blake Williams, Caleb Pitt, Brooklyn Pitt, Kortney Jones, Khole Jones, Lilly Pitt, Zeke Pitt, Daisy Pitt, Joey Andarade, Alexa Andarade, Payton Andarade, Katie Bernicky, Scott Winingear, Haley Bernicky, and Brady Bernicky; several nieces, nephews, and extended Calwood family. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorris was preceded in death by daughters, Lea Ann, Karen Fay, and Sharon Kay Pitt; brothers, Charles Glenn, Richard Pearl and Billy Ray Scott; and sisters, Dora Elizabeth Patrick and Beulah May Scott. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastors Bruce Williamson and Mike Crowson officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
