Marvin "Sonny" Lee Gilmore

Marvin "Sonny" Lee Gilmore, 68, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family, Sonny was born in Salida, Colorado on November 22, 1950 and he was a member of the Class of 1969 at Fulton High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of V.F.W. Post 2657 in Fulton. He was a member of Reform Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday School classes. Sonny was a lifetime welder and he retired as a Corrections Officer after working at the Department of Corrections in Fulton. Sonny will be remembered as being a good neighbor to everyone and for spending his time sitting on his front porch waving at the cars driving by. He is survived by his mother, Daisy Perry of Fulton; daughter, Michelle "Missy" Spencer of Mokane, Missouri; sister, Judy (Dewey) Bullard of Fulton; grandchildren, James (Nikki) Atterberry, David W. Atterberry and Tim (Acacia) Last, all of Mokane; great-grandchildren, Michael Lee Atterberry, Lux Atterberry and Russell Last; special friend, Melissa Miller; childhood friend, Jimmy Quisenberry; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, Charles Perry; son, Michael Lee Gilmore; sister, Mary Wine; step-sister, Karen Blackburn; and nephews, Buddy Edwards, Dewey Bullard and Chuck Bullard. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial with military honors will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
