Darlene Douglass, 76, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born on July 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Fred Douglass and the late Mabel (Sheets) Johnson. Darlene retired from Fulton State Hospital in 2002 after 33 years of service as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Darlene enjoyed playing cards and was an excellent cook. She found great pleasure in spending time with her family. Those remaining to cherish her memory include daughters, Geneva "Wendy" Douglass of Richmond, Va., Brenetta "Nat" Douglass of Fulton, Charnette Garner of Indianapolis, InD., and Kimberly Lucas of St. Louis; grandchildren, Jordan Douglass, TeVon Douglass, and Christopher Garner; aunt, Christine Cochran of Kansas City; nephews, Rossi and Nathan Mills; cousins, Russell Baker, Barbara Gordon; childhood friend, Sandra Richmond; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by brother, Robert Douglass; and sisters, Bernice Sexton, Estella Margaret Mills, and Gladys Jones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. James United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Southside Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to St. James United Methodist Church, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
