Wilma Roberta Cole, 92, of Fulton, was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday, June 6, 2019. She was born in Callaway County to William Robert Richmond and Molly Coleman Richmond on January 20, 1927, the youngest of four children. Wilma was formally educated first through 8th grade at George Washington Carver Elementary School. She then attended high school at Lincoln University High School in Jefferson City, Missouri graduating as one of 30 African-American students from across this area of Central Missouri. Wilma professed her faith and was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a proud member of the church's choir. Wilma married the love of her life in 1945, Milton Cole. He served in World War II. They had three children: William, Sharyn and Gary. Wilma and Milton were married just short of 50 years until his passing in 1994. After her children became of age, Wilma took on full-time employment at Fulton State Hospital as a Psychiatric Aide on the overnight shift. She retired after 30 years of service. Wilma enjoyed working out doing senior aerobics at the Community Center, attending church engagements, participating in local NAACP events and activities. She also loved gardening in her yard. Her grandchildren and great- grandchildren brought her much pride and joy. She never missed an opportunity to acknowledge a birthday or accomplishment. Left behind to cherish Wilma's memory are her three children, Sharyn (Arvine) Cole-Eubanks of Columbia, Mo., William (Cynthia) Cole of Bridgeton, Mo., Gary Cole of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Stacey (Lenard) Smith Robertson of Chicago, Ill., Mikki (Garold) Simpson of St. Louis, Mo., Reagan Cole and Robin Cole of Las Vegas, Nevada; four great-grandchildren, Che, Zion, Kennedy and Aaliyah; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A special acknowledgement to Ms. Goldie Lee Vaughn who was her loyal friend until the very end. Waiting to welcome Wilma to her new home in Glory are her husband, Milton; parents; brothers, Harold and Eugene; sister, Marion; many relatives and close friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church, 501 South Business 54 in Fulton. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Entombment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
