Ladybirds drop fourth straight game, lose 13-2 at Hallsville

After a winless weekend tournament in Cairo, North Callaway lost 13-2 at Hallsville on Monday.

Hallsville (11-3), who came into the game winners of five straight, compiled 13 hits and scored seven runs in the second inning of what ended of being a five-inning contest.

The Ladybirds (3-7) had five hits in the game and were led by junior Jalyn Leible, who went 2-for-2 with one walk and one run, and junior Lilly Shafer, who went 1-for-1 with a hit by pitch and a stolen base. North Callaway scored on run in the second and fifth innings.

Senior Ryelle Schmauch was the losing pitcher, allowing 13 runs (10 earned) and 13 hits while Hallsville's Abby Leer earned the win.

North Callaway (3-2 EMO) will transition to conference play again Thursday at Montgomery County (6-5, 3-3 EMO).
