Ladybirds drop another three-set match to Montgomery County

North Callaway lost its second Eastern Missouri Conference game and second match with Montgomery County on Thursday.

The Ladybirds were defeated in straight sets (18-25, 17-25, 15-25) by the Lady Wildcats, marking the second time North Callaway has failed to win a set against Montgomery County this season.

Head coach Andrew Klein said the Ladybirds (0-7, 0-2 EMO) improved since the last time they faced the Lady Wildcats (3-3, 3-0 EMO) on Sept. 2, when they lost by scores of 7-25, 10-25 and 11-25. Having a home crowd Thursday didn't hurt the team's chances either.

"Our girls played hard and have improved since the last time we played Montgomery County," Klein said. "I want to applaud the fans and our girls for playing hard and cheering harder."

Someone that caught Klein's eye was freshman Bailey Hill, who had two key blocks in the match.

North Callaway will have another home match at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday with Chamois (0-2).
