Fulton featured a lineup full of seniors Tuesday against Moberly as part of the Lady Hornets' senior night and a 4-3 loss to the Lady Spartans.
Kyela Macon, Rylee Baker, Alex Trowbridge, Rylee Caswell, Kiah Pittman, Elaina Gray, Kara Schoening and Addison Gray slotted in Fulton's order along with freshman No. 4 Maddison Bright.
The Lady Hornet seniors were honored between the varsity and junior varsity games, but Fulton (9-4, 2-2 NCMC) had to be ready early as Moberly scored a couple runs off junior Marah Walley in the first inning.
Trowbridge did what she has been doing her entire Fulton career and drove in Baker with a triple in the bottom of the first. Bright brought her home with a groundout to tie the score at 2.
The score stayed even until the third when Moberly (3-4, 2-1 NCMC) broke a string of six consecutive batters retired with a triple before a single from the next batter gave the Lady Spartans the lead.
Moberly would add another in the fifth to pressure Fulton some more with a 4-2 score. The Lady Hornets would answer right back in the bottom half with a RBI groundout by Baker. Trowbridge hit her way on again to possibly set up another rally by the Fulton middle of the order, but Bright hit into an inning-ending double play.
Caswell had the Lady Hornets' sixth and final hit in the sixth but was stranded as Moberly gave Fulton its second conference loss.
Trowbridge went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Caswell went 2-for-3 and Elaina Gray went 2-for-3.
Fulton will play within its conference in a 5 p.m. Thursday game at Mexico (4-4, 1-2).
