Fulton volleyball suspends activities because of COVID

Because of a COVID-19 presence on the Fulton volleyball team, the athletic department has suspended all volleyball activities until Thursday.

Players that don't have to quarantine can practice up until then, but all Lady Hornets will be allowed to do the same on the aforementioned date as well as play matches again.

Fulton has three volleyball events within a week it couldn't participate in, starting with the Melissa Hoerber Invitational Tournament on Saturday. It was scheduled earlier in the week to happen at Fulton's gym with seven other teams involved but was moved to California to be played among the seven unaffected teams.

The Lady Hornets (3-2) also had two games scheduled Monday and Tuesday. The Monday home match against Linn was canceled with no makeup date planned, and Tuesday's road contest against Kirksville (6-2) was postponed to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in Kirksville.

Fulton's next match would be at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Mexico (0-4).
