Fulton Lady Hornets make it three straight in first round vs Mexico

Fulton head coach Nicole Murphy has like how the Lady Hornets have played in the first two wins against Mexico. This didn't change Thursday in the first round of the Class 4 District 8 Tournament in Hannibal against the Lady Bulldogs.

Fulton advanced to the next round to be played at 1 p.m. Saturday against Hannibal after winning 25-13, 25-18 and 25-12.

The Lady Hornets were led by junior Quiara Walton's nine kills and four service aces and a more consistent level of play, Murphy said.

"It is the most consistent we have played all season," she said. "I'm looking forward to Saturday to see how we compete against Hannibal."

Fulton (8-17) has played its North Central Missouri Conference rival Hannibal (17-8-4) twice this season, being swept in three sets on both occasions.
