Two Lady Hornets to Grace state with presence

Fulton put its best foot forward Monday in the Class 2 District 2 meet in Moberly.

With the rain coming down, senior Grace Siegel and junior Grace Ousley made sure their good seasons would continue at the state tournament Oct. 18 after earning all-district honors. The Lady Hornets lowered the all-time program team score record to 405 with a performance that gave them a fifth-place finish out of teams.

Siegel was sixth on the day, and as has been the case many times this season, Ousley finished close to her score in seventh. Sophomore Carly Foster also had a good day by just missing state qualification by two strokes.

As a team, the Lady Hornets finished ahead of Blair Oaks with its 485 and also ahead of three North Central Missouri Conference schools in Marshall, seventh; Moberly, 10th; and Mexico, 12th. Another conference foe, Kirksville, took the top spot with a score of 370.
