For the second straight season, Fulton boys soccer has representation on the all-state team.

Sophomore midfielder Christian Mahoro was named to the Class 2 all-state second team and the all region team for Class 2 Region 2 by the Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association. Mahoro gives the Hornets, who finished this past season with a 15-8 overall record, another all-state player after Christian's brother Clement Mahoro earned first team honors and then junior Alban Dervishi made the second team.

Mahoro added to his accolades this season after earning first team honors on the all-conference and all-district teams. He scored 14 goals and recorded 12 assists for Fulton as one of the Hornets' key offensive players.

This year wasn't easy all the way through for Mahoro as he had to sit out three games due to injury, being one of several Hornets to deal with injuries this season.

Mahoro returned to the lineup on Sept. 28 at conference-rival Moberly and made his presence felt in his first game back. In the 7-3 win, Mahoro scored three goals and had two assists, scoring his first before halftime and then the final two for the hat trick two minutes apart late in the game.

In Fulton's first-round game against Mexico in the Class 2 District 4 Tournament on Nov. 2, Mahoro came up big for the Hornets again after the Bulldogs jumped ahead 3-0 after 14 minutes. Mahoro scored two goals before halftime and then assisted on the game-
tying goal by sophomore Jayden Ayers at the start of the second half. Fulton took the lead not long after and then Mahoro secured his second hat trick in the 75th minute for the 5-3 win.

Head coach Joel Henley said Mahoro was eager to involved his teammates more in the season, but the Fulton coaches encouraged him to take more shots, which led to more goals and assists. After starting his first two years, Henley said the Hornets are looking forward to having Mahoro as a focal point in the midfield next season.
