High school boys' basketball: Montgomery County 69, New Bloomfield 33

MOKANE - No. 8 seed New Bloomfield was manhandled by No. 1 Montgomery County in a contest between Wildcats in first-round play at the South Callaway Tournament on Tuesday night.

Senior guard Breycin Dysart led New Bloomfield (1-11) with nine points and junior guard Trevor Jordan had seven.

"We couldn't handle (Montgomery County's) size and athleticism, but I'm really proud that the boys never stopped competing," New Bloomfield head coach Zach Buscher said.

New Bloomfield plays No. 5 seed North Callaway in the consolation semifinals at 6 tonight in the middle school gym. The Thunderbirds bowed to No. 4 seed Vienna 57-44 in Tuesday night's first round.
