High school boys' wrestling: North Callaway's Henry takes second at Sedalia tournament

SEDALIA - Senior Jadon Henry came in second at 138 pounds to direct the Thunderbirds at The Battle at the Katy Trail tournament Saturday.

Freshman Connor Green also finished fourth at 106 pounds for North Callaway, which placed 21st as a team with 157 points.

Henry is now 13-1 after suffering his first loss of the season, dropping a 14-7 decision to Adrian's Cole Ritter in the championship at 138.

Green (10-3) was pinned by Palmyra's Kaden Crane in 3 minutes, 34 seconds in the third-place match at 106.

"Overall, the team went out and fought hard," Thunderbirds head coach Jake Vitale said. "We were led by our two medalists, who really showed what they can do against some of the best in the state.

"This tournament has the top teams in the state and each guy was ready to compete and learn from each match."

Centralia secured the team championship with 586.5 points. Lathrop followed in second place with 445 and Mid-Buchanan was third with 402.

North Callaway hosts a quad meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9.
