Southern Boone gets 11-1 win against New Bloomfield in baseball

ASHLAND - The Southern Boone Eagles scored five runs in the first inning and four in the sixth on their way to an 11-1 win in six innings Wednesday against the New Bloomfield Wildcats.

The Wildcats scored their run in the third inning when Dylan Brenneke reached on an infield single, advanced to second on an error and made his way home on another error.

Trevor Jordan pitched 3 innings of relief for New Bloomfield, limiting the Eagles to two runs (one earned) on three hits with a pair of strikeouts and a walk.

Hayden Steelmam of Southern Boone (18-1), the third-ranked team in Class 4, struck out seven and walked none while allowing an unearned run and four hits in six innings.

New Bloomfield (7-7) will play Union at 5 p.m. Friday in the first round of the Russellville Tournament.
