Fulton track teams combine to win four events at Hermann Invitational

HERMANN - Quiara Walton won two events and placed second in another to lead the Fulton performers Tuesday in the Hermann Invitational.

Walton leaped 16 feet, 7 inches to take the top spot in the long jump. She also won the triple jump with a mark of 33-5.25. In the 100-meter dash, Walton clocked in at 13.44 seconds to finish second and tally 28 of Fulton's 37 points.

The other nine points came from Kayanna Gaines, who placed third in the 1,600-meter run in 5:32.98 and sixth in the 3,200 in 12:30.70.

The Lady Hornets finished eighth out of 14 teams, with Centralia winning the team title with 123 points.

The Fulton boys had 40 points to take eighth.

Courtland Simmons won the 100 in 11.55 seconds and the 200 in 23.49 seconds. He added a fifth-place finish in the 400 with a time of 54.23 seconds.

Shaun Wolfe ran the 3,200 in 11:02.01 to place third.

Fulton is back in action Friday when it hosts the Don Dobson Invitational.
