AUXVAUSSE - A five-run eighth inning led the Elsberry Indians to a 7-2 victory against the North Callaway Thunderbirds on Thursday in an Eastern Missouri Conference matchup.
The Thunderbirds entered the seventh inning down 2-0 before forcing the extra frame.
Davis Woods and Austin Taylor drew back-to-back walks before Bryce Clark reached on an error to make the score 2-1. Jacob Morris then drove in the trying run with an infield single.
Woods pitched the first four innings for the Thunderbirds, allowing two runs while striking out four.
Elsberry is 9-4 overall and 7-1 in the EMC.
North Callaway (2-7, 1-3) will play Monday at Mark Twain.
