M.S. track and field: Two Lady Wildcats win at Southern Boone Relays

ASHLAND - The New Bloomfield girls won two events, while the South Callaway boys and the South Callaway girls each won one event Thursday at the Southern Boone Middle School Relays.

New Bloomfield's Mya Briggs had the winning leap in the long jump at 13 feet, 9 inches.

Macie Abbott notched a victory for the Lady Wildcats in the discus with a throw of 82-6.

New Bloomfield tallied 54 points to finish sixth out of 12 teams in the girls standings. Gentry Middle School out of Columbia won with 100.5 points.

The South Callaway girls finished ninth with 34 points, 10 of which came from Kelsey Wetherell's win in the triple jump. Wetherell won with a jump of 28-0.75.

North Callaway finished 10th with 10 points.

Gentry also won the boys title with 118 points.

South Callaway scored 27 points to take sixth out of 11 teams.

Colten Crocker won the pole vault for the Bulldogs by clearing 8-5.5.

North Callaway placed eighth with 20 points and New Bloomfield was 10th with eight points.
