Prep Track: North Callaway boys second, girls third at home invite

KINGDOM CITY - The North Callaway boys scored points in 18 of the 19 events in a runner-up performance while the girls collected nine top-2 results to finish third Tuesday in the North Callaway Thunderbird Invitational.

Tristin Webb picked up a victory for the Thunderbirds, clocking in at 53.44 seconds in the 400-meter dash.

The Thunderbirds got another win from the 4x800-meter relay team, which finished in a time of 9:08.04.

North Callaway recorded three runner-up finishes: Lane Kimbley in the 3,200-meter run (11:03.87), Brendan Reinhard in the high jump (5 feet, 8.75 inches) and Josh Selby in the javelin (133-2).

Placing third for the Thunderbirds were Cody Cash in the 100 (12.04) and Drew Rohrbach in the pole vault (9-11.75).

Mexico won the boys team title with 133 points to edge North Callaway's 127 points.

Pressley Schmauch earned a win for the Lady Thunderbirds, running the 3,200 in 12:26.68.

Trinity Brush had North Callaway's other win by recording a throw of 100-11 in the discus.

Finishing second for North Callaway were Rachael Jeffries in the 800 (2:45.02), Makenna Allen in the 300-meter hurdles (54.79), Ryelle Schmauch in the pole vault (6-11.75) and Ellie Bedsworth in the shot put (31-11.25).

The Lady Thunderbirds also took runner-up in the 4x100-, 4x200- and 4x800-meter relays.

Taking third for North Callaway were Taylor Head in the 200 (29.31), Schmauch in the 1,600 (5:52.02) and Allen in the 100 hurdles (19.43).

Montgomery County took first in the girls team standings with 177.50 points. Harrisburg was second with 139 points and North Callaway followed in third with 124.5 points.

North Callaway will compete Tuesday in the Montgomery County Invitational.
