Prep Track: New Bloomfield boys team claims conference title

WESTPHALIA - The New Bloomfield boys captured the Show-Me Conference championship by collecting 168 points to beat out South Callaway's 153 points Tuesday at Fatima.

New Bloomfield's Caleb Distler, Nathan Hinrichs and Hunter Dawson racked up points for the Wildcats.

Distler and Hinrichs finished 1-2 in the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, with Distler winning the 800 (2:03.7) and the 1,600 (4:51.36), and Hinrichs claiming the title in the 3,200 (10:18.33).

Distler ran the 3,200 in 10:42.89 to place second.

Hinrichs finished second in the 800 (2:06.14) and 1,600 (4:51.64).

Distler also won a conference championship in the triple jump, leaping 38 feet, 5 inches.

In the long jump, Adam Deppe won with a jump of 20-4.25 to go with a second-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles (44.38).

Dawson was the winner in the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.93.

Dawson added a second-place finish in the 110 hurdles (16.96) and a third-place result in the 200-meter dash (25.00).

Aiden Carr, Jace Pitzen, Dawson and Joseph Fuhriman won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:58.74.

Fuhriman added a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a mark of 37-1.75.

South Callaway's Brendon Mealy and Kyle Dickinson were double-winners.

Mealy won the pole vault by clearing 11-0 and took first in the javelin with a toss of 149-4.

Dickinson swept the shot put (39-6.75) and discus (130-10) events.

Hayden Vaught added an individual conference title for the Bulldogs as he cleared 6-0.75 in the high jump to win.

Vaught also placed second in the 200 with a time of 24.44.

Holden Adams, Hunter Martin Hay, Vaught and Mealy ran the 4x100 relay in 47.12 to claim victory.

New Bloomfield will compete today in the Westran Relays.

South Callaway is back in action today at Wright City.
