MOBERLY - Dustin Hagens Jr. tossed a one-hitter Tuesday to lead the Fulton Hornets to an 8-0 victory against the Moberly Spartans in North Central Missouri Conference play.
The Hornets gave Hagens Jr. a 2-0 lead to work with in the first inning.
Lincoln Smith and Grant Derenzy hit back-to-back one-out singles and scored when Josh Dunmire doubled to left field.
The game remained 2-0 until the fifth inning when Curtis Humphreys singled in a run and David Gibson doubled in a pair of runs.
Hagens Jr., who had two hits, added an RBI single in the sixth as part of a three-run inning.
On the mound, Hagens Jr. struck out five and walked four while allowing just one hit in a complete-game effort.
Moberly dropped to 2-6 overall, 0-4 in the NCMC.
Fulton (3-9, 1-4) will play Thursday at Kirksville.
