New Bloomfield's Distler earns three top-3 results

LINN - New Bloomfield's Caleb Distler and Nathan Hinrichs combined for five top-3 finishes Thursday at the Linn Invitational.

Distler won the 800-meter run in 2:03.89, finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 38 feet, 6.25 inches and placed third in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:49.37.

Hinrichs ran the 1,600 in 4:37.65 to take second and clocked in at 9:50.25 in the 3,200-meter run for another runner-up result.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Hunter Dawson finished fifth in 18.33 seconds.

New Bloomfield scored 41.5 points to end up sixth out of 16 teams.

The top individual finish for the New Bloomfield girls team was Brooke Talbot's fifth-place result in the pole vault, clearing 6-11.75.

Jill Pry cleared 6-6 in the pole vault to place sixth and Aislin Jennings was sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 55.66.

Mikaela Lemelin ran to seventh-place finishes in the 1,600 (6:14.89) and 3,200 (13:38.68).

New Bloomfield was 10th out of 16 teams with 23 points.

New Bloomfield will compete next Friday in the Harrisburg Relays.
