Prep Baseball: North Callaway drops conference game vs. Wright City

AUXVASSE - Wright City scored five runs in the final three innings Thursday in a 6-0 victory against the North Callaway Thunderbirds.

The Wildcats scored the first run in the first inning and that score held until they added two more in the fifth. Wright City's lead went to 5-0 in the sixth and the Wildcats added a run in the seventh.

Kyle Pennell had two of North Callaway's four hits.

Davis Woods pitched 5 innings for the Thunderbirds, striking out five. Sam Pezold recorded the remaining five outs.

Wright City starter Logan Kellner struck out 11 in six innings and Ian Wolff led the six-hit attack with two hits and two RBI.

Wright City improved to 2-3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Eastern Missouri Conference with the victory.

North Callaway (2-4, 1-1) will play Tuesday at Bowling Green in a conference matchup.
