MOKANE — The California Pintos rallied from a three-run deficit Thursday to defeat the South Callaway Bulldogs 11-6.

The Pintos led 2-1 heading to the bottom of the second inning, which ended with the Bulldogs leading 5-2.

Two runs scored when Trace Helsel reached on an error, a third run was added when Owen Rees grounded out and a dropped third strike during a Ryan Lepper at-bat allowed Helsel to score from third base.

The Bulldogs tallied their fourth run of the inning when Jonathon Thomas scored after Jacob Lallier reached on an error.

The score was 6-4 entering the sixth.

California's Ethan Bloch singled to left field to drive in a pair of runs, tying the game at 6.

The go-ahead run crossed the plate on a Hunter Berendzen single to center field.

Berendzen and Bloch each had three hits, adding three and two RBI, respectively.

Helsel was credited with two RBI for South Callaway (3-7), which will host Southern Boone at 10 a.m. and Montgomery County at 2 p.m. Saturday.

California (6-1) will host Hallsville on Tuesday for a Tri-County Conference game.
