South Callaway girls second in middle school meet at Fatima

WESTPHALIA - The South Callaway Middle School girls track and field team placed second while the boys were third Tuesday in a meet at Fatima.

Blair Oaks won the girls team title with 81 points, followed by South Callaway with 73.5 and New Bloomfield with 64.5.

Eugene claimed top honors in the boys standings with 114 points. Blair Oaks took second with 71 points, South Callaway tallied 68 points and New Bloomfield was fourth with 55 points.

South Callaway's Reece Pahl won three events for the Lady Bulldogs: 100- and 200-meter dashes, and the 100-meter hurdles. Pahl also finished second in the long jump.

South Callaway's 4x200-meter relay team of Regan Arrowood, Ella Coleman, Molly Slizewski and Kelsey Wetherell placed third.

Wetherell earned two more medals with third-place finishes in the high jump and triple jump.

For the Bulldogs, medalists included Caleb Markley in the 100 (second) and 200 (second), the 4x200 relay team of Tristan Alonzo, Graden Pontius, Kolton Adrian and Markley (fourth), Alonzo in the discus (third), and Cole Lee in the long jump (second).

South Callaway returns to action Tuesday at Eugene.

New Bloomfield's Quade Edwards earned second-place finishes in the 800-meter run and triple jump, and Wilson Lloyd was runner-up in the high jump.

For the New Bloomfield girls, Myah Briggs placed second in the 400-meter run, third in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the long jump, Macie Abbott was third in the discus, and Emma Powell placed fourth in the triple jump.

New Bloomfield will compete next Wednesday at Hallsville.
