High school softball: Fulton 7, Marshall 6

MARSHALL - Junior third baseman Alex Trowbridge had four hits and drove in two runs as the Lady Hornets turned back the Lady Owls in a North Central Missouri Conference victory Thursday night.

Fulton halted a two-game losing streak in sweeping the season series with Marshall. The Lady Hornets raised their season record to 9-7 and improved to 4-2 in the NCMC.

Trowbridge finished 4-for-4 with a double and scored two runs as Fulton collected 12 hits Thursday night. Senior first baseman Paige Clines was 1-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored, while senior shortstop Sydney Hedgpath also went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and scored a run.

Junior left fielder Rylee Caswell finished 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Senior starter Hayden Echelmeier earned the complete-game win for the Lady Hornets. Echelmeier allowed six runs - four earned - on eight hits, struck out five and walked one.

Fulton returns home to face North Callaway at 5 p.m. Monday.
