LINN — New Bloomfield junior Nathan Hinrichs took fourth in 17:06.46 to lead the Wildcats cross country team to a 12th-place finish at the Linn Invitational on Saturday.
In the varsity girls' division, Fulton senior Kayanna Gaines came in eighth in 21:11.54 to pace the Lady Hornets, who did not have enough runners to score as a team. Sophomore Jonna Vanzetti placed 104th in 28:40.57.
North Callaway freshman Pressley Schmauch was 23rd in 22:59.87 to spur the Ladybirds to an eighth-place finish. New Bloomfield junior Mikaela Lemelin finished 45th in 24:24.35 as the Lady Wildcats were 15th overall.
Fulton junior Shaun Wolfe took 17th in 18:47.21 to guide the Hornets to a seventh-place finish. North Callaway senior Grant Eichman came in 24th in 19:14.77 as the Thunderbirds placed 14th.
Senior Isaac Avery was 38th in 19:53.86 as the Fulton boys logged 230 points. Junior Jacob Barnes followed in 48th place in 20:21.74, freshman Devon Merritt came in 82nd in 21:31.28 and junior Josh Bonnell was next in 83rd place in 21:34.17.
Junior Brian Figard took 72nd in 21:01.58 as the New Bloomfield boys tallied 294 points. Junior Lucas Haley finished 76th in 21:09.87, junior Jace Pitzen placed 91st in 22:01.93 and junior Aidan Carr came in 100th in 22:32.79.
Sophomore Brendan Reinhard was 73rd in 21:02.79 as the North Callaway boys totaled 336 points. Junior David Baires took 80th in 21:20.95, senior Joseph Crawford finished 110th in 22:59.22 and senior Noah Scrogum placed 112th in 23:08.26.
Senior Makenna Allen came in 38th in 24:03.07 as the North Callaway girls accumulated 187 points. Junior Rachael Jeffries finished 42nd in 24:19.63, junior Piper Jeffries followed in 43rd place in 24:20.61 and junior Lydia Backer was 63rd in 25:23.49.
Junior Jillian Pry took 58th in 25:08.29 as the New Bloomfield girls posted 349 points. Senior Aislin Jennings placed 94th in 27:21.86, junior Brooklyn Talbot came in 108th in 29:27.87 and freshman Makenna Coonce finished 118th in 31:06.82.
North Callaway senior Tristin Webb triumphed in the boys' junior varsity race in 19:46.35. Freshman Tristan Young was 38th in 24:22.81 for the Thunderbirds and sophomore Carson Safranski took 42nd in 24:58.62.
New Bloomfield sophomore John Seidner came in 32nd in 23:53.06 and freshman Ben Speaks placed 39th in 24:49.66. Fulton freshman Josh Frazee finished 54th in 26:52.38.
New Bloomfield runs in the South Callaway Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday. Fulton and North Callaway both compete in the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.
