High school softball: California 9, South Callaway 0

MOKANE - The Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-4 after managing only three hits in a shutout loss to the Lady Pintos on Friday night.

"It is a tough loss and we are still waiting on that first win, but I feel once we do get the first one, we will start rolling smoothly," South Callaway head coach Mackenzie Myers said. "We had the bases loaded twice and no runs crossed the plate, so once we start hitting under pressure and getting the ball in play, we will be more productive."

The Lady Bulldogs were coming off an 8-7 home loss in their Show-Me Conference opener when Tuscumbia rallied for three runs in the seventh inning Thursday night.

South Callaway lost the junior varsity contest to California 5-0 in three innings Friday night.

The Lady Bulldogs host Southern Boone at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
