Cross Country: Moore, North Callaway girls capture first-ever EMO title

BOWLING GREEN - Senior Kaleigh Moore took fourth in 21:07.82 to help steer the North Callaway Ladybirds to their first-ever Eastern Missouri Conference championship Saturday.

In the boys varsity division, senior Tristin Webb was second in 17:46.00, as North Callaway finished second as a team. It was the Thunderbirds' best conference finish in school history.

Freshman Pressley Schmauch followed Moore in fifth place as the North Callaway girls tallied 33 points to easily win the team title. Montgomery County was a distant second with 53 points.

Junior Rachael Jeffries was next in sixth place in 21:50.61 for the Ladybirds. Junior Piper Jeffries came in 11th in 22:55.94 and senior Makenna Allen placed 12th in 23:14.88.

Sophomore Brendan Reinhard took eighth in 18:37.99 as the North Callaway boys accumulated 69 points.

Bowling Green rolled to the team championship with 35 points.

Senior Grant Eichman was 10th in 18:42.09 for the Thunderbirds and junior David Baires finished 26th in 20:01.38. Senior Noah Scrogum came in 27th in 20:01.94.

North Callaway competes in the Bowling Green Invitational at 4 p.m. Friday.
