Girls Golf: Fulton's Siegel shoots 96, receives all-district honors

HARTSBURG - Fulton junior Grace Siegel extended her season another week, as she finished in 11th place Monday in the Class 2 District 2 girls golf tournament at Eagle Knoll Golf Course.

Siegel shot a 24-over 96 to earn all-district honors and claim a spot in the Class 2 state tournament, which is next Monday and Tuesday at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield.

The top 18 finishers, including ties, from the district tournament qualified for state, a new MSHSAA standard for boys and girls golf this season.

Grace Ousley tied for 27th place out of 50 golfers at districts with a 123, while Carly Foster placed 41st with a 135.

The Father Tolton Lady Trailblazers won the district team championship with a four-player score of 342. The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons were a distant second with a 428. Fulton, with only three golfers competing, did not post a team score.

Father Tolton's Audrey Rischer won the individual district championship with a 2-over 74. Eldon's Kassidy Hull was district runner-up with an 8-over 80.
