CALIFORNIA - Cai'ra Simmons logged a team-high 12 points in the Fulton Middle School eighth-grade Lady Hornets' 55-24 loss to California on Thursday night.
Kenzi Washington chipped in with 11 points - including three 3-pointers - for FMS (1-1).
The Lady Hornets (1-1) also bowed in the seventh-grade contest 38-29. Simmons finished with 11 points and Washington contributed six.
The eighth-grade team plays at the Moberly Tournament on Saturday, opening against host Moberly at 10 a.m.
The seventh-grade squad hosts Hannibal at 9 a.m. Saturday.
