High school girls' basketball: Clubb, No. 10 Lady Bulldogs demolish Belle

MOKANE - South Callaway junior guard Paige Clubb supplied 20 points to help power the state-ranked Lady Bulldogs to a 68-36 blitz of the Belle Lady Tigers on Tuesday night.

The resounding victory was the ninth straight for South Callaway (13-1), ranked No. 10 in Class 3 by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

The Lady Bulldogs bolted to a 23-9 lead after one quarter and then outscored Belle 19-6 in the second quarter to open up a commanding 42-15 advantage at halftime. South Callaway was comfortably on top 55-26 to start the fourth quarter.

Clubb guided four players in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs. Junior center DeLaney Horstman and senior forward Raeghan Meyer tallied 13 points apiece and sophomore forward Hailee Potter finished with 11.

"We forced a lot of turnovers up front on defense and took advantage of a lot of misses on their end," South Callaway head coach Darren Humphrey said. "We had a lot of open looks on offense."

Halle Smith topped Belle with a game-high 25 points.

The Lady Bulldogs remain at home for a matchup against New Haven at 6 p.m. Friday. South Callaway then travels to Bolivar for a clash with Skyline - ranked fifth in Class 2 - at Southwest Baptist University at 4 p.m. Saturday.
