High school girls' basketball: Bowling Green 39, North Callaway 35

BOWLING GREEN - The Ladybirds ended the regular season with an Eastern Missouri Conference loss to the Lady Bobcats to stop their four-game winning streak Thursday night.

North Callaway (7-15, 5-5 EMO) was down 10-3 after one quarter and 17-10 at halftime. The Ladybirds trailed 32-22 to start the fourth quarter, but their rally in the final 8 minutes fell short.

Sophomore guard Ryelle Schmauch led North Callaway with a game-high 15 points. Senior guard Daelyn Schmauch tallied 13 points.

Madeline Norton paced Bowling Green (10-14, 7-3) with 12 points and Kinley Charleton was next with 10.

The sixth-seeded Ladybirds squared off against No. 3 Montgomery County late Saturday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Class 3, District 8 Tournament in Winfield. Results were not available at press time.
