High school boys' basketball: Bowling Green 47, North Callaway 46

BOWLING GREEN - The Thunderbirds had their winning streak stopped at seven games in a slim Eastern Missouri Conference loss to the Bobcats in Thursday night's regular-season finale.

North Callaway (13-10, 6-4 EMO) trailed 10-8 after one quarter, but outscored Bowling Green 11-9 in the second quarter to tie the game at 19-all at halftime.

The Bobcats edged the Thunderbirds 13-10 in the third quarter to go on top 32-29. Bowling Green preserved the victory despite being outscored by North Callaway 17-15 in the fourth quarter.

Senior guard Gabe Cash - who fouled out with less than 4 minutes remaining in the contest - and junior guard Cody Cash paced the Thunderbirds with 18 points apiece. Gabe Cash connected on four 3-pointers and Cody Cash hit a pair.

George Niemeyer led Bowling Green (16-7, 7-2) with 18 points and Kameron Worley had 10.

North Callaway is the seventh seed in this week's Class 3, District 8 Tournament at Winfield. The Thunderbirds play No. 2 seed Montgomery County in the quarterfinals at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
