Boys Wrestling: North Callaway's Henry wins district title, moves on to state

MARCELINE - Senior Jadon Henry advanced to the state championships for the Thunderbirds by winning the title at 138 pounds Saturday at the Class 1 District 3 Tournament.

Freshman Connor Green also qualified for state by taking fourth place at 106 pounds as North Callaway placed 13th as a team with 39 points.

Henry (35-2) pinned Centralia's Kyden Wilkerson in 2:48 in the title match at 138. He also pinned Carrollton's Dalton Staton in 3:50 in the semifinals.

Henry is a four-time state qualifier. He captured the Thunderbirds' first-ever state medal with a third-place finish at 132 in 2018.

Green (28-9) suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to Lexington's Josh Payne in the third-place match at 106.

Green will be making his first appearance at the state championships.

First-round matches in the Class 1 state championships start at 9 a.m. Thursday at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
