High school girls' basketball: North Callaway 59, Louisiana 33

LOUISIANA - The Ladybirds got off to a fast start, outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 21-7 in the first quarter to fuel their Eastern Missouri Conference romp Tuesday night.

North Callaway (5-14, 3-4 EMO) carried a 29-13 advantage into halftime and took control by outscoring Louisiana 15-3 in the third quarter to forge a decisive 44-16 lead.

Sophomore guard Ryelle Schmauch responded with 13 points to guide the Ladybirds. Senior guard Daelyn Schmauch chipped in with 12 points, five steals and four assists, while sophomore guard Piper Jeffries grabbed eight rebounds.

Faith Rule led Louisiana with a game-high 14 points.

North Callaway hosts Silex in an EMO contest at 6 tonight.
