High school boys' basketball: Columbia Independent 67, Missouri School for Deaf 55

The Eagles slipped back to the .500 mark at 9-9 after a home loss to the Lions on Tuesday night.

MSD took a 14-7 lead after one quarter and was on top 28-22 at halftime. Columbia Independent took control by outscoring the Eagles 26-10 in the third quarter to go in front 48-38.

The Lions then clinched the win by edging MSD 19-17 in the fourth quarter.

Junior guard Jayden Riordan connected for a game-high 31 points and also had five rebounds and three steals to pace the Eagles. Senior center Mikal Meriwether tallied 19 points and nine rebounds.

Dylan Saylers and Marcus Havan led Columbia Independent with 18 points apiece.

MSD travels to Calvary Lutheran at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.
