KINGDOM CITY — Junior guard Cody Cash handed out six of the Thunderbirds' season-high 21 assists in an Eastern Missouri Conference dismantling of the Indians on Friday night.

Senior guard Gabe Cash produced a game-high 23 points — connecting on four 3-pointers — and had four assists and four steals for North Callaway (10-9, 3-3 EMO).

The Thunderbirds jumped out to a 15-5 advantage after one quarter and outscored Elsberry 16-10 in the second quarter to forge a 31-15 halftime lead. North Callaway then turned the game into a romp by outscoring the Indians 23-10 in the third quarter to go up 54-25.

Cody Cash finished with 19 points, including a pair of 3s, and came up with five steals. Senior forward Tanner Taylor grabbed a team-high six rebounds for the Thunderbirds.

"I was really happy with the way the team played to get above .500," North Callaway head coach Matt Miller said. "There was a lot of quality playing time for a lot of players and the team was very unselfish."

Joel Mound led Elsberry (2-17, 1-5) with eight points.

The Thunderbirds (8-4) dropped the junior varsity game 40-36. Freshman guard Matthew Weber provided 14 points and sophomore guard Manny Moreno followed with 11.

North Callaway remains at home for an EMO contest against Wright City at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
