High school softball: Fatima 7, South Callaway 2

MOKANE - The Lady Bulldogs finished the regular season at 8-15 overall and 1-6 in the Show-Me Conference after Monday night's loss to the Lady Comets.

Fatima put up two runs in the top of the first inning, but South Callaway countered with two runs in the bottom of the third to pull even at 2-all. The Lady Comets went in front to stay with two runs in the fourth and sealed the victory with three runs in the seventh.

Junior left fielder Cassidy Crocker was 2-for-3 with a run scored as the Lady Bulldogs totalled eight hits. Sophomore center fielder Hailee Potter went 2-for-4 and scored a run.

Sophomore starter Hannah Mistler took the loss for South Callaway, giving up four runs - three earned - on five hits in four innings.

The Lady Bulldogs are the No. 6 seed and host for the Class 2, District 7 Tournament. South Callaway plays No. 3 seed New Bloomfield in the quarterfinals at 7 tonight.

The Lady Bulldogs were blanked by the Lady Wildcats in a 3-0 Show-Me Conference loss at New Bloomfield on Oct. 3. The Lady Bulldogs were then edged by the Lady Wildcats 6-5 in the semifinals of the South Callaway Tournament on Oct. 5.
